How does UV-C radiation work?
When UV-C light enters a microorganism, it breaks down the DNA connections. This changes the genetic properties of the cell, so that the microorganisms can no longer multiply. Simply put, microorganisms are killed.
What are microorganisms?
A microorganism is too small to be seen with the naked eye. This includes all single-cell organisms such as bacteria, mould and viruses.
Advantages of cleaning air by means of UV-C radiation:
- Microorganisms are treated effectively.
UV-C disinfection focuses on killing the microorganism (virus, bacteria and mould)
- It is not harmful to the environment.
UV-C light affects the DNA of the microorganism. In the closed environment within the Airfixr, the UV light only comes into contact with the air passing through the device.
- No chemicals are used.
- Any unpleasant odours in the room are neutralised.
